The medical fee!!

On Sunday  Evening...doing a Sunday 24 hrs..a child walks in with his son.Child was 8 yr around with a dog bite on leg.The father straightaway demanded Rabivax vaccine. So after examining the child's wound i categorised the wound and prescribed the injection..also explained about the following schedule of other 4 doses. He got at the billing desk..came back complaining about the doctor's charges. As how can just prescribing an injection cost him 1500 rs.. This looks small thing..like charging the plight of patient but to be able to just put those 3 medications..I gave 14 plus years in the field...all my twenties were spent getting my degree. When 700 rs popcorn at PVR,a haircut at Tony and Guy(5000),the dinner date(10000)...the tatoo on your arm(15000,his was extensive)...luxury doesn't look costly...why is your health cheap??? Imagine the vaccine adverse reactions...do you understand the life threatening reactions the body could have...imagine the injection being gone to wro...

Growing up in middle class family, where parents want to save, sacrificing simple pleasures in life....going out for food, having vacation or buying clothes... Ya rationing the use of coolers, later on the AC's And emphasizing on 'savings' As we grew up, started earning..after a long 6-7 yrs of professional studies...then came a respectable stipend  But...as I look back...I wanted to live my life..go on holidays I missed as a child, buy those branded stuff I missed growing up,and trying different cuisines. But as I grew some sense,I understood the value of money...(Have to admit still in the process) Have to find a middle path for it... Saving is important, rather now investing is important (times have changed from our parents era). But in mayhem of life, having a hectic job in healthcare still winding my head around it....I hope to understand this concept. But deeper in my soul I know that ,enough money is the money where you can take care of your parents health,and...

While standing at the sangam of two rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda (tributaries of ganga) I remarked that one of the river is moving faster and the other one is slower My friend standing adjacent to me said "You know the water which is slower and quiet is more deeper " To which I replied People who look happy in their demanour often are considered frivolous But they do have the deepest cuts It's just then they chose to smile in front of people but cry alone And it's a very difficult choice to make Requires courage ,lots of it ...

being vulnerable

If I start writing this I may burst into tears. But then not letting out , may hurt me even more.  The constant process of finding the right person making yourself vulnerable again takes a toll. Doesn't it take a part away from us.  The process of letting people into your space and the way things don't work out.  The scars and baggages we carry, how difficult it can be to put them aside, though acknowledging them but not letting it affect your new efforts, when you find a good person, aren't those ghost from your past haunting you.  That things may go bad this time too.  This time too, things may not work out.  Then what.  Well, then we restart again. Stand up again. With a pure intention, but may be with a broken heart, try again.  As someone rightly said , your heart gets broken to make the light to enter in....  It's okay.. Not to be okay It's okay to rest but not quit.  Let's not quit on things we desire and deserve.

The bell at the door

I was in Kolkata, so i thought of exploring 'the city of joy'. It was a sweaty, sunny day.. the sun melted us.  I made a note to self, April is not a season if I planned a visit again. So after filling our stomachs to our heart's content at Park Street, and then afternoon tea at Flurry's, the weather God smiled on us.  The weather suddenly changed ,strong wind blew and it rained. Over the cup of tea, me and my friend were discussing the weather ,when she pointed we have a place left to visit .... 'The Mother house '. I was having second thoughts considering the weather, being tired, and mostly because of my laziness, but my friend insisted strongly for the visit.  Then we reached there in 15 min, and sprang out of car towards a door directed by the driver. The lane had two doors, one of which was closed to my dismay and in the rain I panicked.. then I thought of checking the other door, but it was closed. I saw here and there to ask if the home was closed. But i...

when it hurts the most

I always believed that I am a good person, with purest intention.  I never thought I would have landed in position where I ended up hurting people I cared for most.  Sometime it just happens ... flow of events so uncontrollable that you feel like it will never be better again... The pain you feel will never cease and you are doomed.  At that  moment life felt so hopeless that I wanted to vanish in a blackhole.  Some days are living hell... I lived through it.  What did I learn... Patience that things will turn to be better Life will take it's own course But I believe I have loved whole heartedly  Forgiveness was granted But regeret is what I will carry on But the willingness to be better and stronger for the people I love.. Is what drives me up 29.09.23 Repeat of the previous hell... What does God want to teach me Why the fuck I am the one hurting the person I care...my frnd When I do not want to hurt a stranger even I think boundaries I think the pati...

The barefoot women

There are some days in life which are unique.Like this day where I had a rare opportunity to visit Tihar jail,Delhi. This was a pediatric camp organized by an NGO. I was dropped at the exact meeting point as decided. As i looked at the jail entrance, there was an omnious feeling. The vibes of the place made a part of me wondering what kind of people live here, snatched away from the society. The sequence of events in their lives that had led them to this captivity.I kept aside these thoughts, and went inside to meet my team for today's camp. There was this cute girl ,a young MBBS doctor ,whose mother ran the trust(i was so in love with this girl, her smiling face and positive personality, that i find this worth mentioning).Seeing her, gave me a sense of relief. As we started putting our set up,some inmates who were known as sevagars helped us out. Some were in their twenty's ,some were in thirty's.There was this woman who was really calm, good with her work at hand.I found nothing un...
